A song about the downside of technology, ranging from our never ending urge to own the latest gadgets, the glitches they contain, and the technical abuse caused by people who use them for purposes other than which they were intended.
CD: RADIO RESCUE (cd coming soon)   Label: ViaDisc
Credits: Bill Safron / Produced by Keith Swank

    Story Behind the Song
This song has to do with the fact that while the MAJORITY of technological advancements are postitive, there can be a negative side. People abuse caller ID's and answering machines. Computer hackers can use technology to steal. The rest of us are so busy just trying to afford, or make the machines we do own, work properly, that there's little time for anything else. Although it's exagerated a bit in the song, that was the motivation behind "Talk To My Machine". (Side note): In the 2nd verse "fax it to the feds"... it's just about a guy who sends in his taxes on a fax, just so he can get his money back quicker in order to buy his own fax machine... It's NOT POLITICAL in ANY WAY. We still live in the GREATEST country on EARTH!

    Lyrics
Got a new machine for the phone on the wall
I can take your message, I can screen my calls

    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer

I can forward your call to the phone in my car
    But it's just too expensive
I don't give that number out at all

    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer

You can't have my heart, it's over
    Just Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care who calls
Talk To My Machine he doesn't care at all

You can't have my heart, it's over
    Just Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care who calls
Talk To My Machine he doesn't care who falls

    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer

"FAX it to the Feds" said the words on the sign
I guess I'll buy one of those with my return if I can find the time

    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer

At work I talked Jerry, said his pacemaker's fine
But then we lost him next day
    Standing in the microwave line

    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer

You can't have my heart it's over
    Just Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care who calls
    Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care at all

You can't have my heart, it's over
    Just Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care who calls
    Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care who falls

    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer
    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer

I guess it's time to break down
Call back this girl of mine
I've kept her caught in a loop
    Between her machine and mine

    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer

I finally found her message after hitting rewind
It seems she used my machine
    As her note for suicide

    Getting closer to my world
    Getting closer

You can't have my heart, it's over
    Just Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care who calls
    Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care at all

You can't have my heart, it's over
    Just Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care who calls
    Talk To My Machine
    He doesn't care who falls
