Story Behind the Song
This one started with a riff, that's it. It turned out to be about a guy and a girl meeting in a bar and going out and doing it in the bushes. Hmmmm. When we were recording it, Will Owsley suggested to me to turn the heat up a little on the bridge by giving it a little Pete Ham (Badfinger), that helped it a lot. I added the Abbey Road style ending, if you can call it that.
Lyrics
I remember late last fall the field grass was so tall
We left the bar for some fresh air
You and I ran until we couldn't stand.
I couldn't believe we were there.
Right there in the grass with the weeds in my ass,
We left and let nobody know.
When I dream of your peaches and cream
It doesn't seem that long ago.
In the park, it started with confessions
In the dark, we started undressing
In my car, we almost got arrested but 'd
Do it all over again. Do it all over again with you
An unlikely scene and for hours it seems
An angel in Earth that was you.
We were mud-covered glow from our head to our toe
I still can't believe it was true.
In the park, it started with confessions
In the dark, we started undressing
In my car, we almost got arrested but 'd
Do it all over again.
Sometimes in my dreams I'm with you again- the leaves in your hair.
Warming up in the air I wish that I could
Do it all over again, Do it all over again
Do it all over again, Do it all over again
Do it all over again, Do it all over again
