	My dear brother and co-writer, John Jarrard, who was blind, used to tell a story about the time he was walking home from his office on Music Row in Nashville - and his cane broke. As he stood there, not knowing what to do, he heard a voice say, "Just keep walking." So he kept going, crossing busy 21st Avenue, even refusing a ride from a friend, until he made it home. John died a few days before Michael and I started writing this song . . . we definitely felt him in the room with us. Thank you, John, for your beautiful, brave and ornery spirit.
