Story Behind the Song
The third song we wrote...recording quality could stand (a lot of) improvement. Still one of our favorites a year later. The song title basically explains the lyrics.
Lyrics
THE SHARP PAIN OF MEMORY
You took it all away.
My heart, my thoughts, my soul.
There's nothing left to see.
A life of thoughts devoid.
My mind a cold dark place
of scarred reality.
No desires, hates.
No hope, no joy, no sorrow.
Empty words all I speak.
Empty thoughts all I think.
Life just passes by.
An eternal day.
Do not weep for me,
The one you have betrayed.
My wounds are slow to heal,
If they shall ever close.
They told me that you were a blessing.
I held you dear, and I got hate.
Your joys were unknown to me.
All I saw was your anger.
You tore me in two with your heart.
I lost myself... searching for me.
They called you the Red Rose,
But through your stem runs black.
Your love an icy wind
Blaring through the baren plain.
Freezing all it touches,
Killing all it meets.
But I see your pedals wilting...
I see your leaves fall.
I see your flowers wither.
Your deadly thorns exposed.
Empty words all I speak.
Empty thoughts all i think.
Life just passes by.
An eternal day.
Do not weep for me,
The one you have betrayed.
My wounds are slow to heal.
Now they shall never close.
