    Story Behind the Song
This song was inspired by the new bandstand built in my hometown where I used to romp.I wrote this in Feb 2001 and played it for the first time on the Bandstand last summer. It's kind of like my thank-you song to the small town and the people I grew up with. I recorded it instrumentally in a couple hours, the vocals went easy on this one

    Lyrics
Gigging is hard I don't know why they call it playing
Theres a million like me strumming around what their saying
The things we do for our creative expressions
The things we give up to make a little impression
Up all night I don't why
We go so far to get a little high
    But theres nothing like it
    Chorus
And theres nothing like this green park of my home
No theres nothing like this, this high all my own
Everything I thought, Everywhere I ran
Back where I started Back where I began
    Breaking in this bandatand
    Breaking in this bandstand

This town has seen my assortment of phases
Country hic, hippie chic, party girl phases
I met music here I marched down these streets
And I thank this little town for the memories so sweet
Glad to be here Glad to get away
Nothing much to do but sit around and play
    And theres nothing like it

    Chorus

Remember Big Bud, Quinn Shiny Joe Shaheen
Alices and Finches and the magazine
Remember the Sherburne Inn, Ossie and June
That magic brick house, Willie and the Zoo
Up in Irish heaven theres a bar and stage
Where ole Dick Keefe sings and dances
    He's ageless and timeless
    I still hear him singing
    He's singing down on this
    Green park of my home
He's sing down on this Hey! I holding my own!
Everything I thought, Everywhere I ran
Back where I started back where I began
    Breaking in this band
    Breaking in this band
    Breaking in this bandstand
    Breaking in this bandstand
