    Story Behind the Song
This song was written long ago for a friend of mine who was waiting for the love of her life to return...from where-ever he disappeared to. This song was recorded once back in the late seventies in a studio in Reading, Pa. but the only copy I had was lost. The words have changed over the years but never the guitar nor the way its makes me feel while playing it....Finially winterberry can rest.

    Lyrics
Silver stands and swords of ice
Where she sits mesmorized through the hours
In a window full of curtain lace
Her thoughts got lost vaporized in the flowers
    Rose and raspberry
She's looking down the street it's another ice age
The sanders came and left again
She's waiting for a man with the north in his eyes
Before winter, thats waht he said
    Winterberry
Winterberry, Takes her where she is free to tarry
While it's snowin outside the buildings look old
While mothers dress their children warm
They press their angels in the snow untill
    their frozen in time.
Its not the stone of April she's waiting for
But the ring that could hold her for eternity
So she works at every diner for every family in town
And when her hope fades old faces are scary
Her thoughts rewind to when there was nothing to hide
Back to Eden thats how she dreams of him
And it takes her from alone so many times
To his love far from ordinary
    Winterberry
Winterberry takes her where she is free to tarry
While its snowin outside the river has froze
Her father let the horses out
    They stand like their stone
    Like she's alone.
She ties on her apron with enduring grace
    Another Sunday another cherry
She's waiting for this man she's waiting all her life
She's waiting on and on Winterberry
    Winterberry
