	Story Behind the Song The song is about the myth of Pan (the god of booze, the dancing goat). He fell in love with a waternymph. She turned herself into a cane as a final attempt to avoid his proposals. Then Pan became so sad that he cut the cane as a flute. You can still hear him melancholy playing his flute. Pan is also a symbol for the lost nature, a figure that is only led by his dionysic impulses. That is why the call of the flute is also the cry for the loss of nature. He only dances round and round and will never find what he is looking for, like the restless devil.
