Story Behind the Song
We began talking to an individual in France who was releasing a compilation CD under his label Ocean Music. He wanted to include our original version of this song on this compilation, but we all felt that the original version just didn't have it. The original itself went through 16 different 'treatments', and still wasn't right. Time was an issue as he was going to the manufacturer in less than a week. Within that time, we totally restructured and re-recorded the song. This is that version, available on O-M 1, the Ocean Music compilation CD.
Lyrics
Been living this little lie,
For too long now.
Been taking up all this time,
With too much wine.
Well you know that you've forgotten,
When you can't remember what you knew.
If I could find the bottom, baby,
I'd crawl back to you.
I'll take a glass of sympathy,
If love's run dry.
It doesn't matter much to me,
Just don't say goodbye.
I know I was the one you wanted,
But that was ended long ago.
If I could find the bottom, baby,
I'd crawl back to you.
Mystified by the distance
That we're apart.
But if you try,
You can listen to my heart.
When everything you love is gone,
All that's left is what is true.
If I could find the bottom, baby,
I'd crawl back to you.
