This song describes the difficult task of living a pure life with a sin nature. As a Christian, I have been forgiven, but my tired sin nature still pulls me in the opposite direction. This is a release song that deals with that. It ends up praising God and asking him to humble me. |

Story Behind the Song
I believe that in the church today there are many issues that are not brought up, but need to be dealt with. In reality, every Christian who sins, has committed an act equal to that of a prostitute or worse: sin is sin. We need to address sin as such, and not pretend that we all are perfect with our smiling church faces each Sunday. The awesome answer to this question of sin is that for those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ, He has paid the debt for us, and His mercy and grace have washed us clean. This song talks about how my sin nature always seems to take over, and I betray him even though I know what is right. It ends celebrating the mercy that God has given me, and praising Him. This is a release song.

Tired Nature

Lyrics and Music by Cody J. White
Fill my head with Christian Music
Knowing what is right and what is wrong
I learn from past experiences,
But I never learn
Chorus:
I betrayed you anyway
Oh, I feel your spirit,
Mercy draws me to the Savior
How many times will my lust prevail?
Won’t you break these weighted chains?
It’s just my tired nature
In church every single Sunday
But do I live a lie?
My legacy destroyed?
My family let down?
Where is my integrity?
Repeat Chorus
Humble me mighty God
Take my life, excel Your kingdom
Humble me might Lord
Take my pride, this is my prayer to you.
Repeat Chorus
Bridge:
How long?
How long? Must I fight?
How majestic is your name! Oh Lord, Oh Lord
How majestic is your name!
Repeat Chorus
