    Story Behind the Song
A song about a guy who has difficulty finding proper romance and
instead finds himself involved in a string of one night stands, but
isn't happy with his lot. Should ring a few bells

    Lyrics
You were oh so special for those few hours to me
When I needed a shoulder and sympathetic company
I was desiring somewhere safe and warm
A pretty looking port in a testosterone storm

I don't know how often you take that approach
Now there was a subject that never was broached
I dare not ask in case I didn't like the answer you spoke
I could have done without being put off my stroke

You're just one more page in my emotional scrapbook
Ready to be ripped out at will
And now the gloss on the photos has faded
    The sugar coating's given way
to one great big empty space
    still left to fill

    I know I should feel different, 'cause I'm a man it's true
But I guess I more than likely feel the same as you
I kind of liked it while you were acting all crude and obscene
But now that it's all over what did it really mean?

It feels oh so empty, now that it's done
It feels like a hundred thousand years have gone
There's not much heart string tugging left to report
My main concern right at this moment is what I might have caught

You're just one more page in my emotional scrapbook
Ready to be ripped out at will
And now the gloss on the photos has faded
    The sugar coating's given way
to one great big empty space
    still left to fill

I don't know if I'll ever see you again
With the mechanics all over, on the shelf we remain
When I left you at your door, we said a long goodbye
Should we meet again there may be an uncomfortable "Hi!"

I really would like to get inside your head
Next time you turn to see the face on the other pillow of your bed
How was his performance, in marks out of ten?
Is he ever likely to be lying there again?

Or is he just one more page in your emotional scrapbook?
Ready to be ripped out at will
And when the gloss on the photos has faded
The sugar coating will give way
to one great big empty space
    still left to fill
