Story Behind the Song
Kiarash wrote this for his girlfriend at the time. They seemed to always be physically far away, and it created an effect of trying to be closer together. This song has an industrial rock and hip-hop influence, and reflects the pain of separation. As Háfez put it "Even stones wail when lovers part".
Lyrics
9-Dard
házeram Asir besham man, pisheh sheytun tu jahanam
zireh ragbáreh mosalsal, Habs besham tu zenduneh sard
begirand páyám o dastám, tuyeh sad zanjireh sangín
hameyeh ranjha o bíshtar, vali az to dur nabásham…
ruzi keh rafti ze pisham, gofti keh zud barmigardam
avalin ruz zajr keshidam, tuyeh kháb tow row mididam
keh tow rafteh budi, va pashimun shodeh budi
dobáreh biyáh beh pisham, ta keh az tow dur nabásham
9-Pain
I am prepared to become the devil’s prisoner in hell
I am prepared to be imprisoned in a cold jail cell, flooded by gun shots,
They can put my hands and feet in a hundred heavy chains
I will take all the suffering and more, just to not be far from you
The day you left me, you said you would come back soon
The first day I was in pain, I saw you in my dreams
I saw you had gone, but you were sorry
Come back to me, so that I am not far from you.
