The Esperanto title refers to life in a Mediterranean city during summer: Vivid, pulsating, sometimes hectical but at the same time easy and sunny. That's exactly what this track is like: Fast and swinging drums and bass back soft and happy brass, sax, clarinet and flute. This is also the instrumental version of a remix I made of "MfG" from "Die Fantastischen Vier" (Germany's most famous Hiphop group!). The photo shows the rapper Smudo and me. |

Story Behind the Song
Two things came together when making this song: First, I had a new excellent Acid Jazz sample CD. I made a short intro with it on September 13th, 1999. One day later I parted to Catania, Sicily in order to study there for a year. During that time, I edited the track and made a second, longer version on May 7th, 2000. It were the experiences in that period that influenced the track.
Second, when I got back home, I read on the homepage of Smudo, the rapper of "Die Fantastischen Vier" (http://www.smudo.com) that there was a contest. The task was to remix Fanta 4's top hit "MfG" (which is an abbreviation for "Mit freundlichen Grüßen" - the usual final phrase for a formal letter in German).
I began the work but got way too busy to finish it at once. But about one year later, I saw Smudo during his "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" reading tour in Paderborn and remembered the whole thing. (By the way, the photo was made on that day!) About one month later, more precisely on January 17th, 2002, I finally finished my work. This is the instrumental version used to back the Hiphop vocals. I think I did a really good job this time!
