I wrote this song in one of those dry times we all go through. While reading scripture I realized that God grows us during those periods. It may not be growth we can see with big green leaves, but He's growing our roots and making us much better grounded Christians. |

Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song in one of those dry times we all go through. While reading scripture I realized that God grows us during those periods. It may not be growth we can see with big green leaves and fruit, but He's growing our roots and making us much better grounded Christians.
Lyrics
Growing Deeper
Matthew 13:6
I’m in a spiritual drought, withered by doubts--and parched by pain.
My soul thirsts for You, like grass for the dew, but I’ve nothing to hold but faith, so
CHORUS - I’m growing deeper, sending down roots--Anchoring on to Your Life and Your Truth.
I’m growing deeper—stretchin’ my faith
Learning to trust in Your love and Your ways.
A tree with shallow roots, might bear fruit
But can’t survive a drought.
Don’t wanna be like that like that tree, and there’s no rain in sight for me, so I need to start digging down.
(Repeat chorus)
In this difficult time, my soul is so dry,I feel I’m not gonna’ make it through.
But I know from the past, that this drought will not last. I’ll survive and I will grow deeper.
(Repeat Chorus)
