    Story Behind the Song
    Six years ago, I had a dream that Brett (the drummer for The Bennies) and I were listening to a song that we'd never heard before, with me singing. We knew it was us, but had no recollection of writing or recording it. So when I woke up, I wrote some of the lyrics down, remembering what I could but not being able to finish the song because back then it was way over my head. It ended up being the "Everything falls away" portion of "This Song Has No Name". Back then the song was called "Green Dream". In 1966, John Lennon said to "Listen to the color of your dream", so I did.

    Six years later, on the first night of 2002, I envisioned the entire song all at once, every sound, every echo. It took exactly one month to figure out what was in my head, and on February 2 every lyric was put onto paper, including portions of my "Green Dream". A few days after that, and then a four-day recording process led to what you have here: "This Song Has No Name".

    The song is exactly 7 minutes long. It is also 3 minutes long, for during the climax, the music begins traveling back in time as the rest of the song moves forward to the end, to when the 7 and 3 minute-marks coincide, and both moments occur simultaneously, on beat 7 nonetheless. This happens because reality is seven dimensions (note: if you listen to when I say the word "seven" in the first verse of the song, I say it on beat 7), minus four what we see with our eyes. Seven minus four is three, you see, and time is a thing of the past.

    Also notice: If you count the beat at the beginning, middle, and end of the song, it goes like this: 1, 2, 3, 4; then 1 2 3 4 5; 1 2 3 4 5 6; 1 2 3 4 5 6 7; then goes back down: 1 2 3 4 5 6; 1 2 3 4 5; 1 2 3 4; 1 2 3. In addition to this, if you look at the lyrics, they are structured in the same way with the number of lines in each stanza: 1 2 3 4; 1 2 3 4 5; etc., just like the way the beat moves.

    If this sounds like a lot of information to take in all at once, don't fret. Just listen to the song and it all makes sense. If it doesn't make sense, just listen to it again.

    "This Song Has No Name" will soon be a book of pictures, each line being its own drawing or painting or photo, or what have you. All of my friends picked random lines out of a hat, and their job is to interpret them however they see fit, and then show it visually.
