#2 ON THE TRAD-JAZZ CHART (09/23/03) This classic was performed by many Jazz musicians and vocalists during the 1920's, 30's and 40's including Sidney Bechet. His great performance inspired me to recreate this wonderful tune on the soprano Sax. Please Enjoy! | MP3.com CD: Freshly Canned! - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
This is actually my very first recorded tune in about 20 years. During the spring of 2000, I had acquired a Soprano sax and decided to record myself to determine how I sounded on that instrument. Being inspired by Sidney Bechet's playing style, I decided to model the arrangement after one of his 1930's versions. Although I was just jammin' around, I soon realized that things sounded pretty good. With a little more effort and tweaking, the song turned out the way you hear it. More importantly, this initial success led to many other recordings which are now available on mp3.com.
This single song marks the rebirth of my love affair with music. ENJOY!
