Story Behind the Song
Jesus is a toiletbrush?
Are we challenging your preconceptions of Christian muscians yet?
Two thousand years ago, we believe God "got his hands dirty" Our world, and us as individuals, are one big filthy toilet in need of an extreme dose of industrial cleaning. Well, God, in becoming a man and coming to earth got down and did what had to be done and he didn't even wear marigolds.
Jesus died in shame, in filth, pain and gore a criminals death. Many Christians have a problem with the words "Toliet" and "God" in the same sentence. God becoming man brought the two closer than that.
Why did God do that? because Our God is a not a distant, disinterested God who sits up on his cloud looking down. He's a God he is actively involved every step of our lives. Who will come down to meet us and clean us up if only we let him.
The idea of Jesus being a toiletcleaner is challenging, but in our opinion God having nails driven into his wrist and being tortured to death to clean us is even more radical and should shock us even more.
Lyrics
Jesus is a toiletbrush
cleans us up and pulls the flush
He goes where others will not go
that is why we love him so
Jesus is like Mr. sheene
Loves us even when we're mean
Sees the dirt and dives on in
Leaves us feeling lemon clean
