	This is a simple acoustic song with vocals and EBowed guitars. Very simple, very melodic. One of the first things I ever wrote, but still holds up lyrically.

	Story Behind the Song This was a song written long ago and recorded while at a party in 1999. There were really loud festivities going on at the house in the next rooms, but a friend wanted to see how the recording process worked so I threw it down onto 4 trk in about 20 minutes. It's about sweeping things under the carpet and failing to recognise that your actions have an impact on many other people and their faith. Lyrics Underneath the century house where the secrets of passing years lie slain by the words of treason spoken by men and women whose faith has gone - they can never leave but they can't remain. In the troubled depths, the region of indeterminate light where shadows are sold for the unchangable passions of life. What flower will remain alive when the dust has settled and the dark returned? What lie will stand unchanged when the seals are broken - when the air is torn and the doors are thrown open? Underneath the century house where the renegade conscience lies - surrenders breath and lies in cold silence in the cooling heaps of past gone by.
