    Story Behind the Song
This song was recorded at Pearl Studios Liverpool in 1990. It was originally recorded as a bonus track for the CD release of our debut vinyl album Son of a Beach. The CD was never made so this is a rarity!
The engineer at pearl had never used so many channels just for guitar before. I think we used 10 out of 16!

    Lyrics
She said she's leaving me today, she's going to California, long lonely summers on it's way, just think what might have been.I'm sitting underneath the water-slide. These tears of pain I just can't hide. White knuckles, roller coaster ride, my heart is splitting at the seams.

And now she's always on my mind (keep surfin just keep surfin)

Don't wanna play the slot machines no more. My world just hit the lowest score I never felt this way before, just think what might have been Three darts in a single card to win, like cupids arrows. It's a sin that she could never let me in, I thought our love was evergreen.

And if I had my time over again, she would stay and I'd say that it's better this way (well don't go 'cos you know that I'm missing you so).

I walk the midway all alone just waiting for a word on the telephone, to tell me she is coming home. I know it's just a dream. I sit here and watch the breakers roar as they crash foaming to the shore. I just can't take it any more, life's not this way in magazines.
