    Story Behind the Song
This song was banged out at a small ADAT studio in NJ. It was recorded in September 2001. It was written about a young woman who struggles with faith, religion, spirituality and all the other stuff that is supposed to make life easier. She has watched alot of bad things happen to good people and vehemently rejects the notion of a higher power. She exclaims that if there was a God, he wouldnt let these terrible things happen.

Dan has been writing and performing since the early 1980s and has performed, collaborated and opened on stage with artists including Bruce Springsteen, Nils Lofgren, Clarence Clemmons, The Smithereens, Mick Ronson, Edgar Winter, Max Weinberg, Gary Tallent, Robert Gordon, Sam Andrew and Tom Pacheco. Dan has been a regular on the Greenwich Village bar scene for years packing the house at NYC clubs (Kennys Castaways, The Bitter End and CBGBs, etc.,) colleges up and down the Eastern seaboard and been the opening act for many well known bands. Dans writing is filled with strong, gritty imagery and the music is founded on a hybrid of rock and blues. The live show is powerful, energetic and relentless. There have been countless stylistic and performance analogies made between Dan and Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, etc.

    Lyrics
    Tear Down the Wall
    Tear Down the wall
    Tear down the wall
All you gotta do is call
Ill never ever let you fall
    Tear down the wall
    What you got to hide
    What you got inside
    Its as if someone died
    But you havent cried
    Or you cant decide
    I know youll never pray
    And baby thats quite OK
But I hope one day youll learn to say
    Im feeling pretty good today
    Tear Down the wall
    Tear down the wall
All you gotta do is call
Ill never ever let you fall
    Whats that you say
    That you’ve lost your way
Oh its OK if you are scared
    I will make you safe
    I know youll never pray
    And baby that’s quite OK
But I hope one day youll learn to say
    Im feeling pretty good today
    You world is closing in
    And youre suffocating
    Your thrashing in your sleep
    As your hibernating
This isolation is kicking you alive
Put your heart on the table
    If youre going to survive
    Tear Down the wall
    Tear down the wall
All you gotta do is call
Ill never ever let you fall
    Tear down the wall
    Tear Down the wall
    Tear down the wall
All you gotta do is call
Ill never ever let you fall
All you gotta do is call
Ill never ever let you fall
