    Story Behind the Song
A character called "Braefar" in the David Gemmel book "Midnight Falcon" partly inspired this song. Its about paranoia and bitterness clouding the mind where the person concerned feels all the bad things in their life can be blamed on other people. It's also a cringing look back to my years of teenage angst! I recorded it in one take this morning before running for the bus.

    Lyrics
    You blame your mother
    blame your school
your old friends and hometown too
    Think them up
    write them down
and then it’s easier for to prove
    Couldn’t turn the finger
    on yourself
and lay the blame with someone else
someone else someone else on someone…

    Weren’t you the one
    Weren’t you the fool
Weren’t you the demons inside you
    Won’t cast them out
    Put up a fight
“I want them in my life in my life in my life or something…”

    Can you hear them laughing
    through the door
to make you cry? You cry for more
    They shoot you up
    and nail you down
wreck your ship and run to ground
    So deep inside
    you hide the spark
    that killed the seed
You love the dark you love the dark
you love the dark and you love…

    Weren’t you the one
    Weren’t you the fool
Weren’t you the demons inside you
    So cast them out
    Put up a fight
You don’t want them in your life
in your life in your life anymore…

    Weren’t you the one
    Weren’t you the fool
Weren’t you the demons inside you
    So tell me now
    Just what it is
How could the world agree with this
    Weren’t you the fool
Weren’t you the fool Weren’t you
    Weren’t you the fool
Weren’t you the fool Weren’t you
    The fool.
