A fight between a spider and an earwig
Credits: Lyrics and music - Jacson and his Dad!

    Story Behind the Song
This song was written because Jacson is studying mini beasts at school. Mini beasts are basically insects and spiders etc. Jacson is 6 years old. He wrote most of the lyrics with some help from his Dad.

    Lyrics
It was a dark cold day in the spider's wood,
And the rain began to fall.
A movement made the spider jump,
So he climbed up high and tall.
From behind a stick and over a leaf,
    An earwig slowly crawled.
The spider's fangs gleamed in the dark,
As he readied himself to fall.

As the spider fell the earwig jumped,
    On the spider's abdomen.
The spider swung across the branch,
    And the earwig bravely clung.
The earwig got his nippers ready,
    To strike the spider's head.
But the spider turned and slipped away,
From the earwig's jaws of death.

The spider and the earwig fought,
They knew they could not lose.
They twist and turn across the branch,
    The earwig got a bruise.

    Chorus
    Arachnid versus insect,
    Which one's going to win?
    The spider or the earwig?
    The fangs are sinking in.

    The spider bites the earwig,
And the poison starts to drip.
But the earwig twists and jumps away,
To give the spider the slip.
    He falls behind a log,
    And continues on his way.
The spider crawls back to his web,
    To search for other prey.

    Chorus
