Story Behind the Song
This song was obviously influenced by The Beatles, thus the "sea of green". But it's mainly a loss of love song. I've often wondered how different my life would have been if I had been a cartoon superhero. It was recorded in Denton, Texas.
Lyrics
I had a dream I was floating overhead in a big balloon,
Looking down on the place where you now live wondering how?
He made you so much happier than I ever could.
And I knew from the first time that I ever saw you,
Yes I knew that you would make me blue.
Over the years I have seen a million girls and their tears,
For the loss of the one true love they had who did not.
Have any of the material things people deem,
As important to make you more appealing to those who consume.
Yes I knew that they would make you blue.
And on, and on the story goes,
The never-ending picture show of life, of love, and of loss in the big blue.
I had a dream that the big blue turned into a sea of green.
