	Story Behind the Song The idea for this song came from observing how alcoholism goes from one generation to the next in my own family as well as in families of friends. The "daddy" that is talked about in the first verse is a composite character of several people I've come in contact with. It was pretty easy to write. I probably worked on it every day for a week. It only took 3 takes to get it recorded. Lyrics Daddy was a drinker every single day he said it didn't really start out that way at first he only did it when he wanted some fun then he had to drink to keep from coming undone Break the Chain
