Story Behind the Song
This song was written while on a surfing trip to the west of Ireland in a place called Sligo. It was arrived at around the campfire one night and includes imagery from what we saw there and what we had experienced in our lives...
A bit of fun really
Lyrics
Feathers on the marsh by a cool little river
wouldn’t it be fun if the crows start swimmin’, yeah yeah
Boppin’ in the road to the sound of the sixties
leaving all your troubles in the back back home back , yeah, yeah
And the old bog road, the old bog road
Loading up the van to the dock of Southhampton
Waiting till the cows come home home home home, yeah, yeah
Sleepin’ in the sun chillin’ out all day
God made grass for the pain to go away, yeah
And the old bog road, the old bog road
There’s a place in the hills so far so far away
Where anything and everything goes
Its a land I remember like the back of my hand
And it lies round the old bog road
It’s a little wonderland with stars on your face
And there’s lakes all over the place
Said it’s wonderful, magical, heaven sent,
money spent, trouble free, stone sweet, on the dole, rock ‘n’ roll
Feathers on the marsh by a cool little river
wouldn’t it be fun if the crows start swimmin’, yeah yeah
Sleepin’ in the sun chillin’ out all day
God made grass for the pain to go away, yeah
And the old bog road, the old bog road
And the old bog road, we all go soul....
