    Story Behind the Song
I don't want to spoil the words for anyone. They can mean whatever you want them to mean. The song took form over several months on and off, but the actual recording took about three hours.

    Lyrics
I opened my eyes, I heard my mother say,
"Wake up darling there's no school today!"
    She threw back the curtains,
    A smile found my face,
    I ran to the window,
    And snow was falling everyplace.

I went outside to meet all of my friends,
And we played all day like it would never end
Freezing cold, our bodies were numb,
Ignorant to the life that would someday come.

Those are the days I'll always remember.
We were young and free, strong and alive,
    No care in the world,
And that sparkle was fresh in our eyes.

Now that the real world is here,
It seems so unfair, the way we're consumed,
    And forget to care.
    I promise myself somehow, someday...
I'll find my way, my way back to that place.

Gliding on the wings of an angel,
    Leaving all my troubles behind,
I felt so high above the Earth in the stars.
Now I know it's time to go home,
    Nothing lost and nothing gained.
Now my tears fall from clouds like rain.

I open my eyes, it's just another day.
Always too much work and never any play.
I'm much older now, with a family all my own.
I don't know how I got to this place,
    I call home.

What ever happened to all of my friends?
And where are all those days,
    That seemed to never end?
There's no more time for a sparkle in my eyes
Everyday is a day closer to my demise.

Hiding from the same old new day,
There has to be more than this.
I close my eyes and dream the day away!
Falling from the wings of an angel,
All is lost and nothing gained,
Now my hopes fall from clouds in vain.
