An ethereal but melancholy ballad, minimalist yet impassioned. The balance between flute, piano and vocals makes for a beautiful sound, and the lyrics really stand out. A truly original piece. |

Story Behind the Song
This, the Something's first song, was first performed at a college variety show. Their first attempt at creating a song in collaboration, it was a huge success. The lyrics are a combination of personal and global events of the time, capturing the atmosphere of the moment. This version of the song was recorded with the Bard of Ely's help at Raven studios in Camberley, with Alex Cable as the sound engineer. The Somethings plan to record further tracks in the coming months.
Lyrics
This unease
Spreads right through me
Like a disease.
You’ve got a cancer of apathy
Lodged malignantly
In your body.
Bleed my ears so I can’t hear
Bleach my eyes so I can’t see
Kiss me goodbye ‘til my lips crack
And I’ll die happily.
Hellmouth gapes
Under golden arches
Full of hate.
War tears up some foreign place
So America won’t lose face.
Bleed my ears so I can’t hear
Bleach my eyes so I can’t see
Kiss me goodbye ‘til my lips crack
And I’ll die happily.
Bleed my ears so I can’t hear
Bleach my eyes so I can’t see
Kiss me goodbye ‘til my mind crack
And I’ll die happily.
