    Story Behind the Song
A song about good times gone by, Jamming, Obscenity, Laughter, Loss, Resurrection and some other crap! S.P.A.M. was a band, which was about nothing in particular, and what ever you wanted. It was everything I wanted. It was once everything I had, (not really but sometimes it felt that way,) before the BASSet HOund band began. It opened many doors of opportunities for me and inspired me to finish this album. (S.P.A.M. @ Rafters was recorded at the big 'ole analogue, 24 track tape, big-ass recording studio at my School, (or T.A.F.E.). So it reminds me of the whole year of 2001, which has just passed a few days ago. Yeah... so S.P.A.M. was a jam band, we improvised music and lyrics that were often obscene and abstract, (because it's not easy to improvise a 4 to 12 minute song that makes sense. Or hasn't got a few words, which when used, they can buy you some time to think about what you could say/sing. Those naughty, naughty words are excellent for this purpose.) I thoroughly enjoyed it! Oo yes I did, it was fan-splentabulousious. But then one day somebody accidentally dropped a big canister of 'I smell like an ass-hole' on the band, which resulted in its horrible, slow, agonised death. And then an old man standing on the corner had the nerve to laugh at me, (don't worry, I got him. And then I taught him a lesson or two, I did. He won't be disrespecting me no more, no sir. [chuckles to self]). Yeah, but then we got back together one Septemberish afternoon and... We jammed once more, it was good. (but no, seriously, it was good and I'm not being sarcastic, it really was. Me carrying on about the possibility that one would think that I was being sarcastic does seem to point some sort of insecurity to the fact that I think, people may think I'm being sarcastic, but no. Seriously it was good. I just thought it would be funny to say it in a way as indescriptive as 'good' because I thought it may be a slight bit humorous, like. And then, furthermore, would it be funny, I thought: Shall I rave on insanely in circles in a manner which suggests I have a 'complex', (if u wish), about the possibility that I was actually fooling myself into thinking it was good, when it actually was really crap. But it wasn't, IT WAS GOOD!

    Lyrics
We weren't prepared, I don't think that, we ever gave a damn. We just want to waste some time, to say the least. I've got Boxes and sticks, a bass guitar, a bucket and FX. All we need is your living room and computer, to immortalise the tunes.

I hate to see a good thing dead. And now we're breathing life into a rusty old can. Our S.P.A.M. is rancid, but won't die. (Attracting vermin from the sky, Just like the great days, gone by. Oh! Like the great days gone by! - CH3)

When it all began, we had a kitchen for our lab. Our music fuelled our laughter, and then we left it behind the freeser. We are not dead, nor disappeared into the air. We have evolved into a smoother operation. From the (Kitchen) Rumpus, we've shifted 'to your living room. And now, Our minds expand, to accommodate for the noise made when we...

Resurrect this stale, fungus-feeding mass. And now our acronym has life in it again. Our S.P.A.M. is rancid but won't die. Just like the good days gone by.
