	Story Behind the Song Having gotten married so long ago (27 years!) on the feast day of St. Ignatius, I've found myself drawn to him and his prayers over the years. This prayer is really inspiring. A great reminder to make good use of the short time we have and of our talents. I had fun writing this in 2001 after playing congas in the prison with my friends. I like the beat of it. Pat Long helped me record it at Susquehanna University one day last April 2002. Lyrics Teach us to be generous, O Lord. Teach us to serve You as You deserve. Give and not count the cost, fight and not heed the wounds, Lord. Teach us to toil and not seek for rest. To labor and not ask for any reward. Save only knowing that we do Your will, o Lord.
