    Story Behind the Song
Everything that stops you from falling in love with someone, even when a part of you wants to. That is the essence of the song. That is the 'Doorman' - he controls who can come in and decides when someone has to leave. The words are about the different emotions and thoughts that stop you from abandoning yourself to falling in love.

The song came to me (Lucie) late one February night and I started writing it then and there and finished it on the train the next day. The first rough was recorded very quickly and the final version took about 6 days - mostly post-production.

    Lyrics
I am not going to fall in love with you
I have decided that I am not going to
But it's not that I do not want to
    Speak to my doorman
You see my soul is a preacher in theosophy
And my mind is a teacher of hypocrisy
And my heart is a seeker of bureacracy
    Speak to my doorman
    He'll say

    It's time to go
    It's leaving time

And I am not going to lose my mind with you
I have discovered that I am not willing to
But it's not that I really don't wish to
    Speak to my doorman
You see my soul is a preacher in monogamy
And my mind is a teacher in monotony
And my heart is a seeker of monopoly
    Speak to my doorman
    He'll say

It's time to go - it's leaving time

And I am not going to spend my gold with you
I've realised that I am not rich enough to
But it's not that I really don't want to
    Speak to my doorman
You see my soul is a preacher in dichotomy
And my mind is a teacher in duality
And my heart reads the world like it's a dictionary
    Speak to my doorman
    I think you'll find that he'll say

    It's time to go
    It's leaving time.
