	Story Behind the Song It was originally almost supposed to be a motownish piece, but the guitar changed all that. I really like the lyrics in this one. There was supposed to be another little fade in bit at the end, but I never got around to it. The lyrics are actually about escapism, seperating yourself so much, you become totally isolated. It's about people who live most their lives inside their heads, (of which I'm very guilty)It also seems to be about capitalism (references to clothes and shopping). Not intentionally. Lyrics Outfitted the wardrobe with the latest style black and white shirts lying in a pile, yeah spent the evening trying on everything you own brought to you with sugar and a smile, yeah it's so groovy, and so clean...submarine that's what it is to me spent the day in Paris on a spree, yeah sits alone dreaming of the ocean floor wondering whats in this thing for me, yeah it's so groovy, and so clean...submarine that's the word floating in a liquid like a bird, yeah bought myself a subatomic particle collector hope to change the way I see the world it's so groovy, and so clean SUBMARINE!!! AHHHHHHH
