This could be a love song, but it strives for more than that. Namaste is Sanskrit for "my soul embraces your soul". This song begs the question, why can't we all get along... people, neighborhoods, nations? |

Story Behind the Song
After a very close and loved relative passed away, I spoke at her memorial. My presentation was not of sorrow, though, it was of celebration for her new life that was just starting. In that, I challenged her, that if she could show me what it was like on the other side, that I would give her a song in return. This was the next song that I wrote after that memorial, and the words flowed within just a few days.
Lyrics
NAMASTE
(c) 3/00, Todd Silva
Sometimes the blind can see
Inside both you and me
I'd guess the deaf can hear
Beyond our inmost fears
So how can I face the truth
When will I see you as you
Only then, we will be free to love
Then our hearts can embrace again
Beyond the words I say
There lies a sacred place
Beneath the veil you wear
Resides a love that cares
How can you find the peace
When will you see me as me
Only then, we will be free to love
Why must it be this way?
Between us empty space
If we could lay to rest
All of our differences
Then maybe we could learn to see
Deep inside, where our love is real
Only then, we would be free to love
Then our hearts will embrace again
