Electrovomit's most universally acclaimed song, featuring elements to please fans of melody and composition while still providing oceans of cold, dark, in fact downright horrible noise. A description to fit both the song and the CD! And if you think this is all sounding a bit prog-death...prepare for your foolish notions to be ANNIHILATED.
CD: To The Depths   Label: Self-released
Credits: All of everything done by David Raven.

    Story Behind the Song
Originally, "To The Depths" was to be a concept record...hey, come back goddamnit!

Anyway, this song was written for that concept, like most of the songs, although it isn't actually a concept record anymore. Which means that I don't have to tell you the story, but you could probably figure out a lot of it. Clue: Fenlonael ("Cantus Fenlonael", last song) was the central character in the original tale.

I like this song, partly because it simply rules (and most of my listeners agree) but also because it proves that there is room for some melody and riffage within the Electrovomit sound. Compare this with "Black Noise" to see how much scope I'm managing to squeeze out of this project!

I had the main riff kicking around for ages before I put it into this song. I actually wanted to use it in a conventional song in my other band, but it was rejected on the grounds of being too Folk Metal. But I knew it was too good to throw away, and here's the proof - heavy on Hey, light on Nonny Nonny!
