Story Behind the Song
This song was inspired by the horrific communnist dictator Pol Pot. We had written another couple of songs about this era in Asian history, and thought it wouldn't be complete without something on Pol Pot. He starved millions of his own people to death during his reign. Unfortunately he died in his sleep, before he could be brought to justice for his terrible acts of genocide.
Lyrics
Crimes against humanity!
Born to aristocracy and mediocrity
a communnist infested mind
Saloth Sar on his rise to the top
and he won't stop until he saturates your thoughts
Cultural revolution inspires a recluse
to architect his warchest
To instill upon the masses his distorted
view of reality
lines drawn, hatred spawns, lines drawn
lines drawn, a blood red dawn, lines drawn
Selective intellect, a filtration of the
truth that keeps people in the dark
Create dependency, create a need to be cared
for instead of thinking for yourself
Following like sheep, a population desensitized
to mind control
No one sees the herding of humans into
slavery, no one sees certain death
repeat chorus
Soldiers march into the towns
and they burn them down - banish people
from their homes
Forced to live like animals, on the hunt
for food - those who stayed paid the cost
solo - Les
Pol Pot you cheated life, you cheated all
those you starved to death
Pol Pot even in death you haunt the earth
each and every day
repeat chorus
