This song is about a car. It's powered by amoebas, and that's about it. I wrote this joke song to go along with my friend's project for Linear Algebra class. It was mostly written in about 20 minutes, and finished off as I recorded. I've heard from other people that it's good, so here you are! |
CD: We don't actually have a CD...
Label: Goodberry Records
Credits: Written, recorded, mixed, and encoded by Dan Goodberry |
Story Behind the Song
I basically put this all in the description already. But for those interested, I took 2 takes for the guitar part (the first time I forgot to turn off the 'safety' switch!), plus an extra bit to get rid of a part I didn't like. Vocals took 1 take for melody, 2 for harmony. I wouldn't have had time to finish, except my car was in the shop, and I couldn't go back to school until it was finished. For the super-curious of readers, no, I won't tell you what the lyrics mean. They're really not very deep, and not worth explaining anyway. Hope you enjoy it!
Lyrics
Getting ready to fly
Tuning gears at the track for the miles
Pseudopod-ometer reset
For the race of your life
Take a spin, send them all home
To their broken beds
they thought they could take you
Raise your head, stand above even
In your Amoeba Squad Z-17
You started from scratch
With all of your parts grown in labs
But it starts all the same
Who are they laughing at now?
[Chorus]
Take a spin, they’ll just stay home
With their spoken bets
no thoughts they can take you
Raise your head, fly above heaven
