Don't let the title fool you. There's a surprise surf instro bridge in this very moving melody that compliments the Knights' ongoing, interesting blend of modern and trad guitar. This track is included in the group's newest CD release, "In Progression," now available at lancerecords.com, and has been retitled, "Ragtime Surf." For each CD sold, Lance Records will include a four-minute, professionally produced, VHS video of some very cool, wakeboard wipe outs, sound tracked with the title song. (Note: Unlike the compact CD version, this free audio track is not CD mastered.) |
CD: In Progression
Label: Lance Records 2010
Credits: Jason Stewart - arranger, composer, modern guitar; Dick Stewart - arranger, composer, trad guitar; Ritch Stewart - arranger, composer, bass; Steve Hudgins - drummer, chief engineer |
Story Behind the Song
This basically came about as a result of Dick Stewart and sons doing a little jamming during a time when attitudes were "right on" and thus, everything fell into place. Jason is the principal composer and provided the overall concept. Ritch created the bass pattern and Dick composed the bridge.
