"In the Mirror" maintains its own atmosphere with a reggae-ish bassline, some offbeat drums, and Clan of Xymox-like synth
sounds. The lyrics paint a somber picture to go along with the mood of the music. The arpeggiated harp-like synth part in the chorus gives the song a brighter
feel adding some unusual contrast.

Story Behind the Song
DUB! DUB! DUB! An homage to our Bauhaus/Police heritage...there's a weird combination. In The Mirror also has a bit of trip hop thrown in for flavor. Namely, the lyrics are delivered in a dreamy cadence, almost David Sylvian-esque during the chorus. Its about vanity, self-awareness, projections of one's psyche after seeing a reflection...you know all the basics. I wanted something surreal, a sedated lullaby. It also has introspection about being a performer...why do we do it?
