	Story Behind the Song I wrote this song in 1996. I was trying to explain a feeling that I had never had before. It explains my life at the time.I was living in a beautiful house in the redwoods(Humboldt County) and had everything I thought I wanted at the time, yet there was alot of underlying discontent. It was kind of a confession that I wasn't really into the scene anymore.I loved my friends but it seemed like everyone was just coming and going, and when they were there, they always had some latest , greatest philosophy or story about whatever show or city they had just returned from. I, on the other hand had no story and nor did I want one. I felt kind of alienated. I had just bought this 1972 coupe deville cadillac and was dating a musician that I only got to see on monday nights and even then, I had to compete with monday night football and his entire band and five roomates and all of there many stories. I realized our entire relationship boiled down to the two minutes when he was waiting for dinner to get ready and we ran into each other in the kitchen. Every thing seemed cool but that was about it. It was around that time I started thinking about leaving the area. I love Rachel's version of the song and is has been an honor to be on her c.d.
