Story Behind the Song
Anti-corporate theme
Picture a gaggle of employees on the roof garden of a corporation building. Mind-control processes blunt tired minds here but there’s safety in numbers. An individual hails fellow co-workers saying ‘Don’t worry’, you are all wonderful’. ‘Go home, there are far more important things in life’. The home becomes a castle, a protector. Shut the doors to keep out the Corporate Hordes who impose themselves on you. They slip through the letterbox, over the phone or into your computer to embed themselves in this once sacred place.
A shared experience brings protection to the workforce, but the unions are dead. Time to go...time to take that jump.
Lyrics
Monument - This house is a testament.
Back door, front door, (it raises my roof).
Take a chance. Make it wonderous.
Delegate, and make it wonderful.
Parapet - We’re friends on a parapet.
Sky high, fall deep
(but we’re safely fenced in).
Take a breath. Isn’t it wonderful?
You will not fall, it is wonderous.
Punched proud, to be part of this crowd.
Bar-coded, profiled
(but it never really tracks us down).
You are your self. Individual.
Cut yourself some slack.
You are wonderful.
