Story Behind the Song
Free was written by singer Anthony Verhoeven to bass guitarrist Brad Boyd's six year old daughter who had suffered from a devastating divorce of which she blamed herself. It basically depicts how she is not to blame for the divorce, but is still the apple in her father's eyes.

Scorned, betrayed from every side,
Swallow a spoon of pride,
To young to see, a family is a dream
Born to take her mother’s eyes,
Can’t help but to remind,
It’s all right to bleed,
One day you’ll see
Falling hard, falling into life
When you’ve been pacified
And though I’m free,
You’re not an ordinary life
And now I’m free,
A fallen angel shattered cry,
You are the purpose of my life,
A part of me forever shines
Crawl in your dark corner and hide,
Your innocence is blind,
The fault of me,
One day you’ll be free
Falling hard, falling into life
When you’ve been pacified
And though I’m free,
You’re not an ordinary life
And now I’m free,
A fallen angel shattered cry,
You are the purpose of my life,
A part of me forever shines
You try not to smile,
But you’ll find your way out from the dark…
