When asking yourself, "Who am I to achieve all I have dreamed of?" Follow it with "Who am I NOT to?" No dream is too big to follow. This is your one life, your one chance, so go for it! The universe is in YOUR hands. Do not fall victim to the wedding bells and status quo trappings that lure many an enthusiastic light from aspirations toward mediocrity. Be outrageous, for outrageousness is chic! |

Story Behind the Song
This song has become the story of my life. For over a decade, I have dreamed of giving the gift of joy through song, of being a voice for God's lovely creatures, of performing a benefit concert for (non-human!) animals in Central Park, of singing a duet with Elton John - well, the list just goes on and on and on... Each day in this pursuit finds me happier, more energized, and purposeful, and I refuse to lay down!
"One day, God will ask you what you have done with your gift. Are you prepared?" I yearn to say "yes.""
Lyrics
Verse 1:
I'm climbing cliffs too much they say
Well who are those voices anyway?
This playground has so many swings, rocks, and junglegyms
I won't turn in my ropes, my wanderlust, my hopes
And I won't put down my sack while the wind is at my back
And so I must
Chorus:
Cross That Bridge
Where dreams long lost are found
Though picket fences hunt me down
I'll climb to higher ground and
Cross That Bridge
To unfamiliar ground
Then I'll never look back
Once I Cross That Bridge
Verse 2:
Now my jeans are nothing but a shred
And my hiking boot has no sole(soul) left in its tread
But I'd rather be lost in old clothes
Than found aproned to a stove
So "Wake Up!" to your youth
There is nothing that you can't do!
And so I must
-Chorus-
