Welcomes you to a soothing, majestic musical landscape. Based on the gamelan music of Java, this piece uniquely evokes the vast and beautiful spirit of the mountains. "Through the 'Storm' and the 'Sunlight', I made my way to 'The High Mountains' where the space and the wind let my solitude absorb an inner peace. The mood and subtle power of this composition is worth listening to over and over." -- Breakthrough Connections, http://www.brkthrough.com/kswift/kswift.htm |

Story Behind the Song
I programmed the computer to play cyclic patterns in the style of Javanese gamelan music. This may be the world's first computer music gamelan! The computer plays some tracks using constantly-changing instrument settings that are possible with a MIDI matrix which I constructed. I improvised over the top of the computer music using the synthesizer's percussion setting.
