	Story Behind the Song I first wrote the poem "Takeoff". Then I decided to try painting, something I hadn't done since junior high school! I painted 10 acrylic paintings, one for each verse and number in the countdown. Then I composed this choir piece and sung all four parts myself, lowering the soprano and alto parts by an octave. Lyrics "Takeoff" Get ready now is the time --Hello, I'm here to make your trip as comfortable as possible 10 It always feels a little lonely going --Please make sure your trays and seat backs are in the upright position 9 Flying through clouds and over mountains is the best part --Hello this is the Captain and we'll be taking off shortly I'd like to welcome you aboard our jetstar flight 1958K 8 I love to feel the power of those engines lift the plane off the ground --We are now cleared for takeoff please make sure your seat belts are securely fastened 7 She's worked so hard and done so well that baby's coming out any time now --We'll be cruising near light speed at an altitude of 6.2 to 200,000 million miles past Jupiter 6 It all comes down to life and the beating of that heart i'm going to love that baby 'til the end of time --Give it all You've got we're taking off now 5 I'll always remember my boy's sweet smile --When we learned to fly this fast the earth got so small look you can hardly see it now 4 There it is! That first cry! It's a girl!
