Story Behind the Song
Mistrust of a system of government which chooses our president for us. Concern for the environment and of nuclear war. Looking for a better way.
Written in Fort Smith, AR. It took about Half an hour from a couple different days, then went through a refinement. About another half hour to record in just a few takes.
Lyrics
The leader takes his world down,
and we all follow him out.
Majority speaks but seldom is heard,
we're suffocating from a struggling choke hold.
The environment is under fire, we're making our way to a new day.
Empty promises of life's conservation are clear-cutting through the hope of a better land.
(chorus)
Lookin for a better way, I can't stand another day here. (save the world)
So far yet so near.
Lookin for a better way, I can't stand another day here. (save the world)
My world disappears.
The world is in constant danger
from ignorance and nuclear bombs.
Militant views strike angry stares
from allies, our only friends.
Chorus
The world as one is indestructible,
but separately, we're self-destructing.
We're making our way to a new day.
