Story Behind the Song
1982. 15-years-old. New Jersey suburbs. Hanging at malls, pinball arcades and abandoned churches. Good times. The soundtrack: Ozzy, Dio, Maiden, Sabbath...Death to false metal!(?)
This isn't so much a tribute to the great vocalist Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, Alcatrazz) as it is a love song to time 'when everything in life was in front of me.'

Lyrics
Graham Bonnett
Words & Music by Ray Ecke
Verse 1:
I was thinking back on younger days
When everyone I knew was living in their own haze
Fueled by ciggarettes, gum and J's
Suburban vikings in our father's Chevrolets
Hey where have you been hiding
Nobody's seen you since you were caught lying, To that cop in Haledon
Now we won't say a word, we won't say a word, okay.
Verse 2:
Turn up that tune man it's my favorite song
I like to bang my head to Rainbow's 'All Night Long'
Man, Graham Bonnett sure could sing a song
But I guess he and Blackmore they just couldn't get along'
We're jamming in my basement
We're not very tight, but we're damn good live
'Bring some beer and hang out
Until my folks come home, then don't act drunk okay
Chorus:
Another page from my memory
Floats across my mind
When every thing in life was in front of me
Oh but what did I know, less than I know today
Bridge:
Now look at us, all grown up and doing fine
One day at a time
It’s almost sublime
And some even call me 'Sir'
Solo
Verse 3:
Maturity is calling
See me waistline grow, soon my hair is falling
But I won’t surrender
Just don’t say a word, don’t say a word, okay.
Repeat chorus
