    Story Behind the Song
In an act of misguided curiosity I went along to my local church for a few months. This song is about some of the people I was unfortunate enough to meet.

    Lyrics
    We're the most self-righteous people
    that you'll ever meet.
    We won't love our enemies
    or turn the other cheek.
We'll judge you before we have
    walked in your shoes.
    We can't stand homosexuals
    or immigrants or Jews.
    The sick and the homeless,
    the lame and the blind
are lazy and sinful and feeble of mind
so don't put a penny in their charity tins
because whoever dies with the most money wins
don't ask for compassion, we haven't a clue.
If there are stones to be thrown
we'll be first in the queue.
    All prayers are answered,
so pray with all with all your might
    that queers, whores and junkies
    all catch AIDS and die.
Well ,we all love Jesus as much as we can.
Jesus was a white, middle-class Englishman,
but when he said we're all sinners
    he stepped out of line.
    We prefer the bit
where he turns water into wine.
