`Badra´ in Bhojpuri ( a folk dialect of Hindi) means clouds. The song is in a cycle of seven beats. It represents the longing for the beloved in the monsoon season. In traditional Indian poetry, the coming of the clouds after the hot summer months has often been compared to the coming of the beloved after a long period of absence. The sound of the santoor echoes sounds of the rain. |
