    Lyrics
    Hamlet

Hamlet once played Oedipus, a one night, one man show
To a sold out crowd of twenty noblemen waiting for winter's end
But when the blinding time came, he motioned to the wings
He called on his double to play the part to the word
    He tore out his eyes

But the greatest role he ever played was he himself in life
As if Will wrote the words with this lonely man in mind
This melancholy prince slowed by soliloquy
Lost in a litany, in entrances and exits and

I know you will find a way
To lose the scripts written for you
Don't let them feed you your lines
Burn the set and dim the lights

Hamlet was a romantic in a somber black-shirted way
He trifled with his costars, Ophelia and the Queen
Never wanting more than a handjob in the dark
Never wanting love when seduction fit the part
He didn't see the love in their eyes

At the duel, the double once again was called upon
But, being blind, caught a sword tip in his throat

Hamlet never recovered from seeing his other self
Spin wildly around the courtyard, red hands pressed to his throat
    It was just too real.
