    Story Behind the Song
i am Coy Clark, the singer of the band and it's my story since i moved to Los Angeles in 19996. The music was written in 1994 or around there and the lyrics were only written by the year 2000 or so.

    Lyrics
    Second of November
See me land with such a glee
    430 S. Gramercy Place
    Number 103
    At the age of nineteen
    Under blue trashy neon
    I look outside my window
    I see signs in Korean

But when truth means goodbye again
I’ll pack my bags and stray
    On this couch tour
    No place is home

    Crashing at some stranger girl’s
She is gonna have her way
Next thing, she whispers in bed
    Welcome to LA
    I’m splitting by tomorrow
    To Encino I will fade
    Living with the guy
Whose chick, a week before I laid

    (Chorus)
But when truth means goodbye again
I’ll pack my bags and stray
    On this couch tour
    No place is home
Life’s got its twists and turns
    I don’t need a back up plan
    Today I loose
    Tomorrow I win

    Sunset Boulevard
    Sitting in a bar
    As I first hang out
I see a lost blond girl
    Staring at my face
As 14 years hide in between us
    A weekly and the beers
    She says, I’m bored boy
You can sleep at my place
    Rejoicing we lived together
    Till right at Christmas
I caught her on the ride
    I had to break away
    Just before new years day

    Staying at my only friend’s
    Down on Sycamore
    I lay on green couch
    After dating such a whore
But Francis is in lust with me
It’s time to now move on
    Junkies or Newborn fanatics
    Recycler, get me gone

    (Chorus)

Because of this blind black bore
    Who praises the Lord
Now I pack my old Ford
    He fucked me over
    I had up the 101
    UCSB I hit
    This pothead misfit
    Stole all my shit
    As I had to leave
    For my father’s funeral
    Just in time
    I was back in town
    Media greets me
    With flash and sound
    I felt big
Carrying his coffin to the grave
    Thinking
    What my life’s become
And how fucked we all are
    In our own special way
