This is a demo version of the song. It was recorded in a basement with a computer in a 4-track. It is completely done minus the trumpet, but the drums don't sound that great. Anyway, it's still pretty decent. Listen for when we messed up at the end... it's kind of funny. Oh, and pay attention to the kick-ass happy intro. This is the only place you'll find this song. We don't play it anymore.

    Story Behind the Song
As we grow older we lose friends. It's the plain and simple truth... and the truth hurts. Sometimes it's hard to deal with losing good friends - regardless of the situations on which the parting of ways takes place.
I made a lot of really good friends these last few years and I'll be saying goodbye to a lot of them in the next couple months... and the only thing that comes to mind is "I had a blast."
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the shows, thanks for the parties, thanks for all the times we just sat around and talked and for all the crazy adventures that we had. I'll never forget my friends.

    *raise glass*
Here's to all the good times. Here's to all the times that we fucked up. Here's to all the times we can't remember at all!
    cheers...

    Lyrics
These streets are paved with gold, this is the place that we call home. Chorus: Though we're movin on, it'll be with a smile and a song Memories of what we were, and reminders of what we'll become. THough we're gettin out of here I can say that I had fun. (chorus) We've walked these streets all night. From sundown until day light. We traversed life with good friends never thinking these days would end. (chorus) It's been us against the world, but we overcame. We came out of it on top, none of us quite the same. (chorus) These streets are paved with gold, this is the place that we call home. (chorus) Goodbye my friends ....*fuck*... Goodbye my friends, I hope you're always standing proud. Goodbye my friends. Whereever you go I hope you're always singing loud.
