Story Behind the Song
The uncanny thing about Brandon and myself is that we seem to come up with a new song everytime we get together, and this time was no different. I composed the music to use in a commercial for the local radio station. By giving it a different beat and rythym, we came up with this one. Brandon had now gotten tired of writing love songs and wanted to do something on the different side as well. It only took a couple of hours to lay down the tracks, and this is the end result. Enjoy.
Lyrics
I've slept in cramped motels,
so hungry and tired,
Been stuck in bus layovers,
With home on my mind.
I've pawned anything I could,
To buy something for my pain,
And when love called it quits,
I took all the blame.
CHORUS
You only live once,
But once is enough,
And if you had to do it again,
Could you be that tough?
YOu only live once,
but once is enough,
So take one day at a time,
When life gets rough
